So often my motivation selling certain things has been that they were hard to track down! Let me explain…
If I couldn’t find an item easily I became more and more frustrated, and ended up so elated once I actually did find it that I decided to sell it myself. One example of this is the metal crown tea-light holders which I spent ages and ages trying to find all summer. Everytime I saw it available online and tried to make a purchase I was told it was out of stock. Shops I went into said “ah, yes – we USED to sell them, but sorry, we are out of stock and can’t get any at the moment”. When I did at last find the lovely little crowns I was so delighted that I bought 50 and started to sell them on my own website http://www.comfortandjoyshop.co.uk and they have been very popular (and yes, I have nearly sold out).
A similar case is with my lovely Comfort and Joy tea-towels – you see, I have a clean-line and fairly minimal style country home, and I don’t like anything too fussy or over-complicated when it comes to home accessories. I’ve been looking for some time for a good tea-towel – 100% cotton, and with a white background – but maybe an attractive pale grey print. The answer was obvious … design some myself!
The result; my two tea-towel designs featuring our very own cat and dog logo. One is a multi-print image of our signature logo, and the other is a bespoke design which we made especially for the launch of the tea-towels, and it shows Comfort the cat and Joy the dog surrounded by the words “Love is all around us”.
I hope you like them as much as I do, and please let me know what you think. info@comfortandjoyshop.co.uk
